The new security feature will allow clients to LOCK their card when they aren't using it or BLOCK out-of-state transactions.
The toggle feature is right in the MyDSS app and all they have to do is slide it to the right to lock it.
In order to use this functionality, clients must have a MyAccount and have their case associated to that account. Once a MyAccount is created and case associated:
Step 1: Go to https://mydss.ct.gov and press “Login”
Step 2: Enter the MyAccount Username & Password and press “Login”
Step 3: From the left-hand navigation select “EBT Balance and Card Access”
Step 4: Navigate to the Manage EBT Card Access Section and select the radio button (circle) next to the EBT card number
Step 5: Use the toggle switch next to either Lock Card OR Block Out-of- State Transactions
Step 6: Click the green Confirm button
If successful, the user will receive the message “Card ending in XXXX locked successfully!” or “Card ending in XXXX blocked successfully!”.
Don't forget to unlock it before you plan to use it!
