Overview
The Bloomfield Town Center Economic Development Commission (TCEDC) was formed by a Town Council resolution in March 2024. The Town Council charged the Commission with the revitalization of Town Center and guiding economic growth in the Town, focusing on encouraging new business investment through responsible growth while nurturing the existing business base.
Purpose
The Commission's main focus is to discuss, plan, review and consider public input when planning for Bloomfield Center, to frame a vision for the future of Bloomfield Center:
- Develop and discuss conceptual plans
- Meet with interested developers
- Frame the Commission's recommendations for moving forward with a plan
Responsibilities
The Town Center Economic Development Commission (TCEDC) is composed of 5 members appointed by the Bloomfield Town Council. Its members are representative of various residents and key community stakeholders. The Town Council charged the Commission with the following responsibility, authorizing it as follows:
- To develop recommendations for the future development and or redevelopment of Bloomfield Town Center
- To review potential property sketches, photographs, and possible design scenarios of Bloomfield Town Center, and prepare a conceptual design recommended for the future of Bloomfield Town Center
- To identify possible funding methods for Bloomfield Town Center improvements
- To recommend capital projects necessary to implement the formal development or redevelopment of Bloomfield Town Center
