As of February 2025, the Town of Bloomfield has contracted with TaxServ Capital Services, a collection agency, to assist the Town in collecting delinquent motor vehicle and personal property taxes from the 2010 Grand List (July 1, 2011, bill) through and including the 2024 Grand List (July 1, 2025, bill). The Tax Collector’s Office is seeking to fulfill its statutory responsibilities and ensure the collection of all taxes owed to the Town of Bloomfield, Blue Hills Fire District, and Center Fire District, are paid. Due to the taxpayer’s delinquency, a collection agency fee of 15% has been added to each of these delinquent accounts. Interest, required by Connecticut law, will continue to accrue on delinquent balances on the first of each month at the rate of 1.5% per month until the delinquent taxes are paid in full.
