Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Human Resources Department to provide to our constituents a diverse range of Human Resources services to ensure that the Town of Bloomfield continues to be a desirable place to work, live and do business. Our constituents include current and potential Town employees, residents and business owners.

For our employees, we serve as a resource of information and expertise to enhance the well being and quality of life among our workforce. Our goal is to demonstrate through our actions and behavior a genuine respect for the dignity of the individual and to honor each person's right to fair and equitable treatment in all aspects of employment.

We serve the citizens and businesses of Bloomfield through the effective utilization of our Town employees to satisfy the goals, objectives and needs of all those who work, live and visit our Town. Our overall goal is to hire and retain the most talented and qualified individuals who will provide the services essential to meet the personal and business goals of all and to support the successful operation of the Town of Bloomfield.

This mission is accomplished through the following activities:

  • Staff training and development activities
  • Salary administration
  • Negotiation of labor contracts
  • Employee relations
  • Data management of employee personnel files
