A Message from Chief Paul Hammick

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Bloomfield Police Department’s new web site. I am proud and privileged to be Bloomfield’s eighth Police Chief. The Bloomfield Police Department employs a dedicated group of professional men and women who work on a daily basis to deliver the best possible police services to our residents, business community, and visitors to town. We are committed to protect and serve our community by improving the quality of life within and around our neighborhoods, and creating strong effective partnerships with our stakeholders.

We are open to your suggestions on how we can work together to address issues affecting your neighborhood and community. We have a very active Community Services Unit that meets with neighborhood organizations and community groups to discuss specific issues and develop creative solutions to those problems. Officers are available to address neighborhood groups or business organizations on topics of concern, and we have a large community room that is available to accommodate groups or organizations.

We are committed to improving both the quality and quantity of information and services provided through this new web site. I hope that you find the information useful and will continue to visit our web site often.

We continue to offer The Bloomfield Police Department Citizens’ Police Academy. The twelve-week program provides candidates from the community with a tremendous opportunity to learn about the law-enforcement profession, meet the Bloomfield Police staff, and view the workings of your police department. If you are interested in participating in future sessions, please contact the Community Services Unit at: 860-242-5501, extension 5580.

On behalf of the entire Bloomfield Police Department, I appreciate your continued support.

Paul B. Hammick
