How do I get fingerprinted for employment, a gun permit*, or other purposes?

UPDATE 3/18/20:  In compliance with Governor Lamont’s Executive Order NO. 7E, The Bloomfield Police Department will be suspending the fingerprinting availability function for the purposes of a criminal history records check, in order to limit the transmission of COVID-19 and to focus resources on critical public safety needs. There will be no civilian fingerprinting until further notice.

Who is eligible:  Bloomfield residents, applicants for a Town of Bloomfield position, and applicants for a position with the Bloomfield Board of Education may be fingerprinted.

Where:  Bloomfield Police Headquarters, 785 Park Avenue, Bloomfield

When:  Sun. through Sat. between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. (*Before being fingerprinted for a gun permit, you must submit a Pistol Permit Application to the Records Unit Mon. through Fri. between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.)

Cost:  Bloomfield residents:  $10.00; applicants for a Town of Bloomfield or Bloomfield Board of Education position (whether or not they are Bloomfield residents):  free

All others should contact the police department in the town in which they live.
