Land Use Committee

This subcommittee is responsible for providing guidance with the town’s economic and community development goals.

The subcommittee reviews land use and economic development related items which have been referred to it by the Town Council. These items may include plans and proposed Town actions that were originally referred to the full Council by other relevant Boards and Commissions including, but not limited to, the Town Plan and Zoning Commission (TPZ), The Economic Development Commission (EDC) and the Conservation Energy and Environment Committee (CEEC)

One of the main goals of the subcommittee is to develop and enhance partnerships with individuals, organizations, corporations and governments to improve long term planning and heritage preservation.  The subcommittee also plays a supporting role in the town’s efforts to build a stronger local economy by consulting with and supporting local businesses while advocating for the attraction of new businesses that are consistent with the Town’s long term objectives.

The subcommittee may also initiate discussion on proposed actions to improve the appreciation, preservation and enhancement of the cultural, human and natural assets of the town, as well as provide guidance on the town’s efforts to improve the natural environment including increasing resource efficiency, reducing natural area degradation and improving town and resident stewardship of the environment.

Persons who are hearing impaired and need services of an interpreter at a Town meeting must notify the Town of Bloomfield ADA Coordinator, Cindy Coville, at least two (2) weeks in advance of the meeting date. Cindy can be reached at (860) 769-3538 or by email.
