The Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission (IWWC) is responsible for the preservation and protection of the inland wetland and watercourse resources in the Town of Bloomfield as authorized by the State of Connecticut Inland Wetlands Act. The Commission is responsible for and enforces the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Regulations of the Town.
The IWWC meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Town Hall, 800 Bloomfield Avenue. Administrative and technical support is supplied to the Commission by the Wetlands Agent, Peter Castaldi. Please note that the Assessor's On-line Database includes wetlands information from Wetland Map Amendments approved after the present Official Map of Wetlands and Watercourses (July 21, 2014). Watercourse information on the Assessor's On-Line Database is from 2016. A new Official Map will be prepared and scheduled for adoption in 2020.
Revised Regulations were approved by the Wetlands Commission on November 18, 2019. New By-Laws were adopted by the Wetlands Commission on September 16, 2019.
