The celebratory groundbreaking for Bloomfield’s new Human Services Building was held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 4:30pm at the Alvin & Beatrice Wood Human Services Center, 330 Park Avenue, Bloomfield, CT.  The ceremony marked the beginning of construction on the new 56,000 sf building that was approved by Bloomfield voters in November 2016.  The new facility will enhance services for Bloomfield residents of all ages.  The building will provide services for youth, seniors and social services with amenities including multi-purpose rooms, gymnasium, food bank, café, billiards, exercise, cooking and art rooms and two new soccer fields.

The Building Committee is charged with seeking a new facility for the Alvin and Beatrice Wood Human Services facility.   The overriding objective of the project is to effectively, economically and responsibly maximize space, to provide the most benefit, from a senior services, leisure services and social and youth services perspective, to the community of Bloomfield. The Building Committe's charge can be viewed here.

COMING SOON!  Construction on the new Alvin and Beatrice Human Services Facility will begin on May 2, 2018.
