Overview

Persons who are hearing impaired and need services of an interpreter at a Town meeting must notify Human Resources, at least two weeks in advance of the meeting date. A representative from Human Resources can be reached at 860-769-3544.

The Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission (IWWC) is responsible for the preservation and protection of the inland wetland and watercourse resources in the Town of Bloomfield as authorized by the State of Connecticut Inland Wetlands Act. The Commission is responsible for and enforces the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission Regulations of the Town.

The IWWC presently meets remotely only using the ZOOM meeting format on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7 pm. Administrative and technical support is provided to the Commission by the Wetlands Agent, Peter Castaldi. Meetings of the Bloomfield Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission are broadcast live on BATV Channel 5 on Comcast and ATT-Uverse cable systems and are streamed live on the BATV Website.

A new Official Map of Inland Wetlands and Watercourses was adopted on May 15, 2023. The 2023 Official Map has been filed with the Town Clerk and posted to this web page. The 2023 Official Map data is not presently included in the Assessor's on-line GIS. 

Revised Wetlands Commission Regulations were adopted on May 15, 2023. The 2023 Regulations have been filed with the DEEP, the Town Clerk and posted to this web page.

Note: At present the Wetlands Commission is meeting remotely via ZOOM meeting format. Links to the ZOOM meetings are included in the agendas for each meeting. When in-person meetings resume a notice will be posted here.
